Product description:

Habenit 63 is an epoxy based grout for ceramic tiles. Habenit 63 is delivered as a 3-component mortar, component A (resin), component B (hardener) and component C (filler).

Technical data:

Density 1700 kg/m3
Adhesion to ceramics Appr. 9 MPa  (Appr. 90 kp/cm2)
Bending strength (at +20° C) Appr. 30 MPa (Appr. 300 kp/cm2)
Compressive strength (at +20° C) Appr. 60 MPa (Appr. 600 kp/cm2)
E-modulus (at +20° C) Appr. 4 GPa (Appr. 0,4 x 105 kp/cm2)
Water absorption Appr. 0,02 % by weight
Curing shrinkage Appr. 0,01 %

Chemical resistance:

The chemical resistance of acid-resistant mortars is specified in "CC HÜganäs Building Mortars, Acid-resistant mortars, survey, product data".

Applications:

Habenit 63 is designed for filling joints between ceramic tiles on horizontal surfaces where high chemical and mechanical resistance is required. Habenit 63 is also suitable for floors in wet environments that are exposed to hard wear and demand frequent cleaning.
Typical applications include production facilities in the food industry, particulary dairies, breweries, slaughterhouses, meat-packing plants, etc.

Mixing:

The components shall have a temperature of +15° C to +25° C. Always prepare a complete batch. For the mixing use a mixing machine or a low-rotary drilling machine with a spiral mixer.
Component A must be well mixed with component B before component C is added.

Jointing:

The temperature of the premises shall be +15° C to +25° C. At lower temperatures the mortar is more difficult to work with and takes longer to set (the temperature should not be below +10° C). At higher temperature the setting time is faster. Tiles and joints must be free from grease, mortar residues, loose particles and dust. Work the grout into the joints with a rubber trowel. Remove most of the excess material with trowel.
Ready mixed grout must be used within 30 minutes at a temperature between +15° C and +25° C. The grouted surface can be used after about 2 days but complete resistance to chemicals is achieved after about 7 days. For faster chemical resistance flush the floor with warm water - not exceeding +60° C - after 48 hours.

Cleaning:

Remove most of excess material with the trowel. Then you can complete the cleaning in two different ways:

  1. Clean with a plane cut rigid cellulose sponge and water within 30 minutes (at +20° C) after grouting. Rinse the sponge frequently.
  2. Clean with a SCOTCH-BRITE Doodlebug-pad (brown) and water 1-2 hours (at +20° C) after jointing.

No mortar or water must be left on the tiles after cleaning.
Clean the tools from time to time with water or a mixture of water and alcohol in equal proportions.

Storage and transport:

Habenit 63 shall be stored under dry, not too warm, and frost-free premises in well sealed packages. Storage time is approx. 1 year.

Safety precautions:

Good ventilation at the work place must be ensured. Protective plastic gloves should be used. Soiled working clothes should be changed. Repeated skin contact with epoxy products can result in hypersensitivity and eczema. Mortar on the skin should be washed off with soap. Strict hygienic precautions should be observed. This product is hazardous if ingested and should be kept out of reach of children. Instructions on the package should not be removed, obliterated or otherwise rendered illegible.
